What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.  (1 Cor. 6:19, 20)

Often a particular building structure is viewed as place to get closer to God.  Some might refer to the main meeting place as "the sanctuary."

But such is a mistaken notion in relation to God's temple!

In Acts 17,  the Apostle Paul's arrived in Athens.  The people were very worshipful.  Altars and statues and temples to different gods were everywhere.  Everyone there worshipped.  Everyone today worships.  But somehow, though it makes no sense, people assume their gods are pleased with houses built for them by their worshippers.

Really?  We all build houses for ourselves to live and dwell and resided in.  But then in an unreasonable way, we construct places for the gods we worship.  How pathetically weak and helpless these gods must be.  They cannot even build their own houses.  We must build houses for them.  What pathetic impotence!

This is why, even the legitimate Old Covenant temple at Jerusalem ceased to be the place of God's special presence.  This temple of old, was only a temporary model of the house that God knew He would build for Himself.

What was the model like?  In the model, only after much shedding of animal blood, did the glory of God come to dwell in "His temple."

Now, based on Christ's blood shed on the cross, God no longer dwells in that Old Covenant temple.  Now, the glory of God fills His New Covenant temple.  This temple is not made with human hands.  It is the temple of our bodies.  Our bodies, cleansed by the blood of Christ, is the place God comes to indwell.  This He does for all those who call on the name of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.  Thus, we become "the sanctuary" of God.

This has always been the plan of God.  We are His "not made with human hands" temple!  Christ in us!  We are complete in Him!

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.  (1 Cor 3:16,17)

You may already be "BLESSED IN CHRIST!"  You may already be the temple of God!"  So, when you come, you bring the presence of Christ Who indwells you by His Spirit!

But maybe you are NOT YET "BLESSED IN CHRIST, the temple of God?  Come as you are. Don't try to fix yourself up first.  You cannot save yourself.  COME AS YOU ARE!  You will learn how to CALL ON THE NAME OF JESUS and LEAVE "BLESSED IN CHRIST, THE TEMPLE OF GOD!"

Warmth and Welcoming to our guests and members
